The New (To Me) World of Drag Racing2/17/2013 On Saturday, my little family was given the chance to visit the new (to us) world of drag racing! It is always refreshing to have new experience. We had so many questions and still had more on the way home. Everyone we came across was open to explaining the sport, which requires much much more than just having a driver's license. There is a skill that needs to be practiced and perfected, especially with so many variables that come into play. There was a variety of booths and food stands, as well as classic cars to admire. We were fortunate enough to hang out with one of the pit crews for the day. What I loved most about the day was the family atmosphere. I like to think that when people gather with one common interest, they can't help but become instant friends. Even though our car didn't win that day, we still had a fantastic time. With such a busy schedule, it is difficult to find time to try something new. Drag racing wasn't even on my radar of list of things to do! I'm glad went and totally regret the fact that I left my DSLR at home. My phone camera doesn't seem to give the colors of this car any justice!
