When getting dressed for special events, I used to go through my closet the morning of and spend two-three hours trying on a bunch of outfits. That doesn't fly during pregnancy, especially since I am still doing the whole I-refuse-to-buy-maternity-clothes. This Sunday is my dad's birthday celebration (It's his actual birthday today - Feliz Cumpleaños, Papi!)and I knew I would have a tough time finding something that fit. Pants and a top are pretty much out of the question because the baby belly has grown too much for what I have left in my closet. A dress had to be the way to go. In the fast darkness of my wardrobe hung this black and white maxi dress. I haven't worn it since I bought it during a huge clearance sale; that's what I get for not trying it on first. It was a form-fitting dress, which isn't normally my style. Still, I loved the print so I couldn't bare donating it. I figured I could make it into a scarf or skirt eventually. Luckily I didn't because it's perfect for the occasion! It's super comfy and light-weight. We've been having warm afternoons and cool evenings in the valley recently, so all I would need to do is add a light cardigan for the evening. A dress I would have never braved on a normal day worked out great to highlight the baby belly. I'm telling ya - these are the perks of pregnancy! Dress: Forever 21
