It's Pupusas Day! I had to do a little bit of research for this day (and to be quite honest, I'm still not 100% sure if it actually is a day) because the dish isn't exactly a nationwide trend...YET. Pupusas are amazing, so I vote we start a movement to get the love for this carb-a-licious treasure to be the next big thing for 2016. Who's with me?
While I should probably be featuring actual photographs of the food, I'm just not a food photographer. I'm really not that great at it. I do draw food though! So instead I'm featuring my "Horchata y Pupusas" scarf! The design is already a favorite in the Red Bubble shop, so I think this one may need to get a bit more exposure on Instagram, don't you think? I freakin' love this sheer scarf, which is perfect for year-round wear, and it's huge, which means it can be worn in so many different ways!
Have you ever tasted Pupusas? For those that don't know, Pupusas is a traditional Salvadoran dish and it's carbalicious! Usually made with thick, handmade tortillas and filled with cheese, pork, or beans (or all three!). If you haven't tasted either one before, I highly suggest you find a Central American restaurant near you and make a day out of it. This cuisine is something everyone should enjoy!
Side note: there is no documented "Horchata Day" so we need to jump on this with the quickness.
For those that are new here, I would love to introduce you to a wonderful organization here in southern California. For five years, I have been an supporter of Friends & Helpers, which dedicates itself to aiding victims of local domestic violence to have a happy holiday. Can you imagine finally escaping a terrifying environment only to find yourself with no help around? Friends & Helpers is here to make sure these victims are not alone. Having someone to lean on, especially during the holidays, can change a person's world for the better.
You know what's even more amazing? 100% of every dollar donated goes to someone in need! Plus, there are so many ways to help!
Adopt a Family
Adopt a Stocking
Adopt a Woman's Bag
Donate any amount you'd like!
If you are in the Los Angeles area, you can also volunteer for the holiday prep! View the flyer below for all the details.
Tis the season to help others, peeps.
There is no better feeling than making someone else' holiday bright!
Hello November! This is around the time I start prepping for Christmas, because let's be honest, we all need a couple of months to get ourselves situated for the holidays. This month is going to be filled with xmas DIYs so you can be just as prepared as we are!
BUT FIRST, new wallpapers! I'm on a real mint kick right now, so we've got a pretty mint leaf pattern today. With the days getting shorter, these are perfect to keep your office nice and bright!
