It's that time of year again! The early planning and organization of the madness that is "back-to-school". However, while we are all giddy with our school supplies list, going to Target to stock up on crayons and notebooks, there are families struggling just to get their kids' a backpack.
I have blogged about the wonderful organization, Friends & Helpers, in the past. Beginning in 1992, Friends & Helpers was founded by a victim of domestic abuse. Abuse can affect anyone, and many times, loved ones have no idea. When survivors are finally able to escape an abusive situation, many are only able to take themselves and their children to counseling centers and shelters, with nothing else packed. Friends & Helpers is dedicated to helping and encouraging these families change their lives for the better. The best part: 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to someone who really needs their help. The donations is 100% tax deductible.
For their Back-to-School program, they have a variety of ways that you can help. You can donate as much money as you would like on their site all year round. Every little bit helps! You can also:
1. Donate supplies
3. Adopt a snackpack ($10)
4. Adopt a backpack ($25)
