Behind May at Cozy Reverie

It's been a while since I have done a monthly recap, but here it is!  It was my second full month as a stay-at-home mom, and I am slowly getting the hang of things.  There are way more distractions at home that there ever were at work (TV, Internet, snacks).  However, the routine is starting to develop, and hopefully my home life will become much more structured.

Etsy Life

A good amount of work was put into the Etsy shops this month (Cozy Reverie and Collar Dress Up).  Each week featured new items on the site.  I actually did a lot more painting than digital artwork, and I have to admit, it's much more fun.  I make mistakes and I like that!  Digital artwork has always satisfied my need for instant gratification and quick art, but the time spent on watercolor paintings relaxes me.  With that said, I had a lot of custom digital art pieces this month.  It is always nerve-racking and exciting at the same time.  I'm always worried people won't like my work.  I can happily report that I have had a few returning clients, so I guess I'm doing something right! :)

The months of June and July will be reserved for just packing and shipping orders.  Sorry guys, but any custom orders will have to wait until August.  The Brodster will be on summer vacation and I would love to spend as much time with him, and less time on my sketchbook/computer.

Pregnant Life

I'm back to my somewhat regular appetite - yay!  The energy is lacking, which bums me out.  I have been rearranging our home to accommodate the new bundle of joy that will be joining us soon, so maybe that's why I'm feeling so exhausted.  It's usually four hours a day of rummaging through closets and drawers, while organizing what we need and what can be thrown out.  Unfortunately, I tend to get distracted by something shiny, and then forget what I was doing in the first place (pregnancy memory exists, folks!).  I managed to squeeze in an outfit post; My first one since October 2013!

Mommy Life

The main reason I worked so hard on the Etsy shop this month was for the upcoming summer vacation with Brody.  This is my first summer vacation since high school!  For weeks, I had no idea what the Brodster and I were going to do for two full months, so I finally sat down and started researching fun, cost-friendly activities in Los Angeles.  This felt like a full-time job!  I spent hours, researching website after website of things to do.  It does get a bit limiting when I'm in my second trimester.  It's not like we can just go ice skating.  Luckily, a friend of mine directed me to a wonderful site, HulaFrog.  The site helps you find local stuff to do with kids - YEEESSS!!!  Life saver!  No more browsing the web for things to do.  Now, it's just one stop to find out what's happening near my home.
