A couple of years ago, one of my friends gave my sister the nickname "June Cleaver", due to how well prepared she is when she travels. I mean, she had the hair curlers, matching pajamas, and everything. Ready to look fabulous at all times. Beaver's mom was totally like that, right?
I have always wondered how 1950s housewives did it. Sweatpants and hoodies are my go-to 97% of the time (which is mainly the reason outfit posts are few and far between) because of Louie. Dressing up? Not high on the list of things to do.
I used to wonder how women could do anything in full skirts. Surprisingly, they're super comfortable! I love this skirt! It does help that the skirt was customized specifically to my measurements. Last week, I mentioned that I recently discovered the wonderful clothing site Eshakti. Not only do I absolutely adore their designs, but they customize it to fit you. That's right - tops, skirts, dresses and more are tailored just for you!
I had a wonderful experience with them and I cannot stop gushing over their work. The best way to get the most of your purchase would be to get someone else to do your measurements. That ensures the most accurate numbers to give Eshakti. Look how it turned out! Fits like a glove.
I had a hard time deciding on my first item because there was so much to choose from. I am most in love with all their skirts. There is just something so relentlessly fun about big full skirts. This might be my next new fashion obsession, especially because they offer the option of adding pockets. POCKETS. Let's me repeat that - POCKETS. All dresses and skirts should have pockets (see an awesome list as to why that is here).
I added a head wrap with the styling because it just seemed to fit. I made it out of an old jersey shirt in 5 minutes. It adds to the comfort of the whole outfit. I'll probably be making a bunch more, since they are perfect for bad hair days. Heaven knows I going through major crazy hair since it is currently in its awkward stage.
I have swooned over Instagrammers like Modern June Cleaver and Dictiocanary for months, which is probably why I am getting a bit more brave about what I wear. What encouraged me to begin taking steps outside of my comfort zone was a recent blog post by Delightfully Tacky. First off, she's hilarious. Second, she really touched upon something I had been debating with myself for quite some time. What make Cozy Reverie special? I think I have figured it out, but I don't want to reveal it until I have actually done it. You'll just have to keep reading to find out, now won't you?
