Are you going to the 24-hour Summer Kick Off Celebration at Disneyland today? It is combined with the 60th Diamond Anniversary, so it is bound to be one heck of a party! Unfortunately, our passes have us blocked out, but I probably couldn't handle the stress of the kids and myself on such a crowded day. If I were a single gal, I'd be there bright and early! Luckily, we still have a few Sundays left (until we are completely blocked out in July), so we'll be able to see all the festivities at a later date. This pattern may look a bit familiar if you have been following on Instagram and/or Facebook. I'm so excited to finally feature it on the blog! This diamond pattern was inspired by the upcoming Disney resort celebrations and I just had to figure out how to wear it. It was pretty much a given that I wanted a full skirt - I can't get enough of that style (it is also available as a pouch and scarf in my Etsy shop, as well as practically everything in my little corner of Society 6). With all the crazy behind-the-scenes madness over here, I knew I wasn't going to have time to make it myself, especially if it was my first time in a long time. I haven't made one since college, back in...shh...nevermind. One fine day, I found the wonderful seamstress Mabelle's Retro Round Up on Instagram. Seriously, guys, you have no idea how many wonderful artists there are out there; I love me my Insta! She makes so many different styles of skirts, but she will also make them out of you own fabric. Um, can we say PERFECTO?!? I was able to send her my shiz!! The whole experience was easy, fast, and fun. Yes, I said "fun"! She is incredibly sweet and great at what she does. I mean, just look at my skirt! I cannot wait to rock this style at Disneyland this summer! There are so many new things to see and I'm freakin' the eff out. We already saw The Hat Box Ghost at the Haunted Mansion (OH MY GAWD - the effect gave me chills from it's awesomeness) and Peter Pan is due to reopen in July. I'm actually looking forward to the new parade, which hasn't been the case since the Mulan parade back in the 90s. Oh, did I mention the merchandise? I NEED those diamond Minnie ears. I mean, NEED. Not that the ears I'm wearing right now aren't great (from The Year of a Millions Dreams collection), but just lookit all the sparkle. LOOKIT. What are you most excited for at the 60th Anniversary Celebration? Mickey Mouse Ears: Vintage / Sunglasses: Modcloth /
Black Cropped Cardigan: Old / Blue Tank: Old Navy / Skirt: Cozy Reverie Fabric + construction by Mabelle's Retro Round Up / Shoes: Cathy Jean
