Our littlest Watkinez boy turned 3 years young this month! He has been living in his nursery since he was born so it was due for a major revamp. Since he has so many toys already, we thought our gift to him should be his very first bed. To be honest, we kept him in his crib longer than we thought we would because he is such a rascal that we didn't trust him with the extra freedom yet. Is that odd? OH WELL, here we go! The next step in parenthood!
Normally, I would have jumped on a new Disney theme for the room, but for some reason, it just didn't seem right. Louie has such a fun personality and loves a LOT of Disney characters and films, so we couldn't pick just one.
Thankfully, my husband lets me have the reins when it comes to decor, so I went with rainbow colors. With this choice, it gives us the ability to change up little things here and there, without having to redo the whole theme. Since the boys were out of town for Thanksgiving, I took advantage of a quiet house and went to work on the handmade items.
With this little guy turning 3, I wanted to create a fun learning environment. He's a bit of a show off so he loves talking about what he has learned. Since my boys are half-Hispanic, half-Caucasian, I added both Spanish and English elements to the room. My favorite piece is the rainbow pillow!
Most of the pieces required basic sewing skills so I was able to finish in one afternoon. If you would like to make your own bilingual bedding, scroll below to see the links to my work. :)
