![]() I re-watched Breakfast at Tiffany's this past weekend and had forgotten how much I love Holly Golightly's sleep mask. It's so out-of-this-world fabulous. Realizing that a felt sleep mask could be a relatively simple project, here is a brand new 6-step DIY for you! Even without a sewing machine, this is an easy mask to make, especially if you keep the design simple (but hey, if you've got all the materials for Holly's, by all means, go for it!). Once you master the craft, it would work great as a small birthday gift, party favor, and even a stocking stuffer. I hope to gift one to my son's teacher as a back-to-school gift; teachers need their sleep! Materials Needed:1. Felt 2. Template 3. Needle and thread 4. Elastic 5. Scissors Directions:Step One: Download Template Step Two: Using template, cut two felt pieces. For the sake of the tutorial, the dark blue is the front side of the mask. The light blue is the back side of the mask. If making a mask for a child, cut along the dotted line. :) Step Three: Stitch one end of the elastic in between the felt pieces, at the elastic marking. Step Four: Stitch the top of the mask. Stop when you reach the other elastic marking. Step Five: Before stitching the elastic, make sure the length around your head is comfortable. Then stitch the elastic. Step Six: Stitch the bottom of the mask. DUNZO!
