Remember when I doodled my outfit for the 4th? I included a braided headband that I hadn't made yet.
Well now I have and here's how it is done! So easy, and zero sewing! Ladies and gents, I give you the 4th of July headband made of up-cycled shirts. A great little accessory to add to your holiday outfit.
Materials Needed: Red, White (or blue) shirts and Scissors
Step One: Cut shirt into strips and stretch out each loop (as a referesher, reference an earlier DIY here)
Step Two: Choose six loops and cut them into strands.
Step Three: Tie a knot at the end of the first three strands. Do the same with the other three strands.
Step Four: Braid the strands.
Step Five: Twist the two braided strands.
Step Six: Measure your head and mark how large you would like the headband. Leave the excess part of the strands.
Step Seven: Using another strand from the t-shirt (not used in the braids), tie a knot.
Step Eight: Wrap the strand around the headband and tie it off to secure that it stays in place.
Step Nine: Unravel the braid for the excess part of the strands. DUNZO!
Optional: I tied a bow at the top. ;)
Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July!
