Being a huge fan of Halloween, I always try my best to make my costumes every year. This year poses the challenge of not knowing if I will still be pregnant on October 31st! Oh, a broken sewing machine doesn't help either. At 36 weeks, I wanted to wear something that would be comfortable but cute. Add a little bit of cuddly plus a whole lot of 1980s nostalgia, and you've got yourself a Care Bear! I think I may have underestimated how big Louie has gotten, haha! If you've got a bun in the oven, I suggest making a belly badge with a diameter of at least 10 inches (this one is 7 inches). Here are the instructions on how to make your own Grumpy Bear Costume: Materials Needed:- Blue top & pants - White Felt - Blue Felt - Red Felt - Headband - Scrap Paper - Hot Glue Gun Instructions for Bear Headband:Step One: Make a template for your ears. Draw a small circle on the scrap paper. Then draw a rectangular tab at the bottom of the circle. Step Two: Using the blue felt, cut out two ears from the template shape. Step Five: Position the ears on the headband. Using the hot glue gun, attach the tab around the headband to the back of the ear. Ears? Check! Instructions for Belly Badge and Tushee Tag:Step One: Make a template for your belly badge and tushee tag. Draw a large circle on the scrap paper. Draw the cloud, raindrop, and heart (for the belly badge) and one large heart (for the tushee tag) on another sheet of paper. Step Two: Cut out the design for the belly badge from your felt. White felt for the circle background. Blue felt for the cloud and rain drops. Red felt for the hearts. Step Three: Using the hot glue gun, attach the belly badge to your top. Step Four: Hot glue the tushee tag (large red heart) to the right backside of your pants, near the hip. With these instructions, you could be any care bear - just change up the colors and the belly badge!
Would you rock this 1980s classic?
