Thrifty DIY Wedding, Part Eight: Guest Check InFor our wedding, we wanted a centralized area for the gifts and guest sign in. However, instead of a guestbook, we had our guests sign a canvas! Going along with our theme, I painted simple version of the house flying with the help of balloons. Each balloon was large enough to fit one signature. Our guests signed with a thin sharpie. Now it will hang on a wall in our home, as a fantastic memory of everyone that celebrated with us! Cost: NOTHING. It helps that I have blank canvases hanging around the house. :) We designated one table for the gifts. My awesome bridesmaid, Amanda, found this vintage suitcase at a thrift store. I designed and printed the "CARDS" sign on cardstock and tied each corner with ribbon. It was perfect to catch all the cards! We fluffed it up with more of those gorgeous paper flowers my bridesmaid, Dina, made. Once the party was over, we just closed it and packed it in the trunk. Easy! I HAD TO DO IT! As décor, we added a huge jar to resemble the savings jar from the Disney Pixar movie, Up. We didn't expect people to fill it; it was primarily to match with the theme. I added the taped on sheet to resemble the Paradise Falls jar. Be sure to check out the rest of the DIY Wedding Blog Series! Just click the below!
