The Brodster had his 8th birthday this past weekend! We wanted to keep it small and easy this year with a CPK pizza party (highly recommended, by the way), so there wasn't really a need for decorations BUT I found a reason anyway. You know me. ;) See, last November, I was frantically looking for photographs for our yearly family calendars that we give out every Christmas. Since I am such a stickler to keeping the theme of each month, it was frustrating that I didn't have a photo to match for each holiday. Well, this year, I'm planning early! January's themed pic? Pizza Party! You can see the Brodster's pic here. Can you believe how hard it is to find pizza balloons in a store? I found mylar balloons, but I wanted simple latex ones for the shoot. Well, when in doubt: DIY! Materials Needed: Yellow Balloons Acrylic Paint Paintbrush Helium (optional) Directions: 1. Blow up your balloons FIRST! Don't paint the balloons before you blow them up because the paint will chip off (trust me). 2. Paint a small triangle. 3. Add a line for the crust. 4. Add small circles for the pepperoni. 5. Paint as many pizza slices as you want around the balloon. 6. Repeat! We only used the pizza balloons to decorate the house but these would be a great kid craft for any kind of party. The paint is so easy to use and dries super fast.
Be sure to let me see your projects on Instagram! Just tag them #CozyReverieStyle and you might be featured on the blog! Oh, yeah, don't forget your pizza glasses!
