Did you know that December is Universal Human Rights Month? Article 1 of the Declaration of Human Rights states that, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.” International Justice Mission protects the poor from violence throughout the developing world. Partnered with #Dressember, they are raising money and awareness to protect the poor from violence in nearly 20 communities throughout Africa, Latin America and South and Southeast Asia. So what exactly does the money do? $30 - Aftercare package for a survivor of sex trafficking $111 - Freedom training for a family rescued from slavery $222 - Access to medical care for a survivor of violence $1200 - One month of investigations $4500 - One rescue operation $18,500 - One national lawyer for a year We are incredibly close to the Dressember 2014 finish line. The Cozy Reverie fundraising page didn't reach it's goal, but that's okay, because the other participants absolutely rocked it! What is also important was bringing awareness to what Dressember and International Justice Mission are about. As of today, the Dressember campaign reached $371K, which is 75% of the $500K goal. That's awesome! If you would like to sponsor my Dressember journey, click the image above.
If you donate to the Cozy Reverie fundraising page, be sure to send me an email. You will receive a printable greeting card as a thank you! Thanks so much for considering!
