For me, the one thing harder than convincing myself to workout is consistently eating healthy. I haven't been able to stop focusing on the foods I can't have, like Papa John's Pizza or Coldstone Creamery's Mud Pie Mojo. It's tough! Especially when you have developed a lifetime of bad eating habits. So what to do?
This week, I tried to stick to my dad's food routine, but I slipped twice. Food trucks frequent my place of work and I splurged on two lunches. On Wednesday, it was a veggie roll from the Let's Roll It truck. Thursday was a Triple Grilled Cheese Sandwhich from the Meet 'N Potatoes truck. Both were delicious but not exactly healthy. So I have decided to start keeping a food journal! To begin, I chose my favorite healthy foods. My rainbow of favorites are cherry tomatoes, strawberries, carrots, bananas, apples, and blueberries. It's time to start focusing on which beneficial foods I find delicious, and forget about the junk. Focus on positive foods, ignore the negative! Habits need to start somewhere, right? What are your favorite goodies?
