Eating well and working out can get incredibly hard sometimes. One small trick I use to keep motivated is following inspirational accounts on Instagram. There are a ton of quick-fix trends out there so don’t be fooled. Try to find the health nuts that are clearly enjoying their journey.
Personally, I like following the people that post about their own health and activities. There are accounts that post fitness quotes and images from the web, but that doesn’t really inspire me (I can always go on Pinterest for those). I love following REAL people and see how they truly keep fit and healthy. Most images are captioned with honest moments, whether it be having a hard day but pushing through it, or accomplishing a great workout and trying out a new meal.
Below are a few of my favorites:
@VEGANNRGY: I have only met “Nrgy” face-to-face twice in my lifetime, but I absolutely admire and adore her! Through Facebook and now Instagram, I follow her path as a lover of life. As a proud vegan and proponent of health, she posts fantastic looking meals, as well as her adventures as a free spirit.
@ZUZKALIGHT: As one of the founders of BodyRock.tv, I followed Zuzka when she launched her own personal brand. She creates workouts that focus on short, high-intensity, interval training (HIIT workouts), most of which require little to no equipment. She recently launched her website and online gym that gives us all the tools we need to get fit. Her photos keep me up-to-date with the most recent posts on her site.
@LADYFIT: I came across this account completely by chance, and I’m so glad I did. Now a WBFF PRO, I watched this determined individual place in her first body competition! How incredibly motivating is that?! Her posts include her workouts, meals, and progress shots. She is a naturally thin girl who has shown the world she can change her body with a LOT of hard work.
@JUSTJENNYSLIFE: Thank goodness for hashtags! I clicked on #momfitness and found this user. She introduced me to my now favorite workout, Athlean-XX. Watching a mother-of-three do something I hope to accomplish myself one day is probably the most inspiring thing I can find.
@JENELLESUMMERS: Sister of Chalene Johnson, the creator of the hit Beachbody product, Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire. As a Beachbody coach herself, Summers is incredibly positive about life and works hard to keep others motivated as well.
I draw, make, and occasionally tell a story.
