Trusty Trinity.  "Trini" for short.

This was my last full day with my adorable, blue 1996 Toyota Rav4.  I am heart-broken that it is now time to trade in these wheels for a new (to-me) vehicle.  Trini is my first car!  I have spent twelve wonderful years with her.  TWELVE!  I am so sad that I have to let her go because won't pass the smog test this year.  So before I say "good-bye" for good, I am highlighting the wonderfullness she has brought to my life and why I will miss her terribly.

In the twleve years, she has only broken down on me once!
It was on the 405 South, during the infamous Los Angeles morning traffic.  I don't think I've ever been so scared at people honking at me.  Jerks - what was I supposed to do?  Magically lift Trini out of the way?  Thankfully, Trini was able to muster up enough power for me to drive her to the emergency lane.  I couldn't be mad, though.  It was the first and only time she broke down on me.  Tough gal!
I don't have to worry about scraping my bumper on speed bumps.
It's just high enough to not worry about dips and speed bumps, but low enough for this 5-foot-nothing girl to climb into her car (I have a friend who drives a truck, and it's like climbing Everest for me!).
She has driven up and down the California coast more times than I can remember.
Disneyland trips. Visits to Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz.  Trekking to Big Bear.  She also drove from California to Oklahoma and back again - like a champ!
Trini is my second home.
Seriously.  Living in the San Fernando Valley and working in Los Angeles means I am in my car at least three hours a day, five days a week.  I eat my breakfast, charge my phone, listen to music/news in my car.  I've taken naps in there 9who hasn't done that in their car?).  I'm pretty sure my car seat has molded to my body.  Trini has doubled up as my kitchen, living room, bedroom, and closet for so long. She's comfortable.  She's me.

MAN, AM I GOING TO MISS HER!  Good-bye, old friend.  You've been the very best.
