This past weekend, the Brodster dressed himself. We did a bit of shopping for him and the next day, he wanted to wear everything! With him being a five-year old, we are rapidly running out of the days where we can dress him. He is making his own decisions now, as he should be. That is the only way kids develop their own style. This little guy scored on our shopping trip. It was only supposed to be a new pair of shoes (where we took advantage of the Back-to-School sale at Payless), but ended up finding some clearance gems at Target: a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle t-shirt and watch. This kid thought he was so cool! It is pretty fun to watch Brody make clothing choices. Any parent would want to dress their kid for life, but we know we shouldn't. It is one of the first concrete ways that children can express who they are. If he wanted to wear a Superman cape all weekend, I would totally let him (because that would be AWESOME). A great part about parenting is encouraging the individuality of your kid. They are the best part of you, so why not let them be the best version of themselves?
