With the new state ordinance that all people should wear face masks during Stay at Home, I was in search for an easy DIY face mask that didn't need elastic. After a couple of tries with different tutorials, I found an easy one that was perfect for the materials I had around the house. Craft Passion has a template for four different sizes. I was able to use a shoelace to fasten the masks to our faces, but I'm sure a ribbon, twine, or yarn would work as well. This mask was made with my fabric, Summertime Float, which is available on Spoonflower. Where to buy a maskI got a few people asking if I would be selling masks, but unfortunately, I do not have the time to sew a lot (I'm fortunate enough to be working from home). So I have compiled a list, directing you to businesses that are selling face masks to the public. I will continue to update this list when I find more: 1. Inked Gaming: Buy one mask, donate four masks 2. Hedley and Bennett: Buy one, donate one 3. Salvage Maria: Adults and kid sizes 4. FrogMouth Clothing: Buy one, donate one 5. Makwa Studio: Buy one, donate one 6. Meta Threads: For every mask purchased, profits will be used to fund the production of two additional masks that will be donated to California hospitals, medical facilities and front line workers. 7. House of Mouse: Limited number of masks made, so be sure to turn on notifications to know when masks go on sale. 8. Nerd Poppins Couture: Limited number of masks made, so be sure to turn on notifications to know when masks go on sale. 9. Sophie and Lili: Limited number of masks made, so be sure to turn on notifications to know when masks go on sale. 10. Oh Sew Enchanted: Limited number of masks made, so be sure to turn on notifications to know when masks go on sale. Continue to Practice Social DistancingRemember, cloth masks are not medical-grade, and are not 100% effective in preventing the spread of the Covid-19. Please continue to practice social distancing and thoroughly washing your hands. For more resources, visit the official CDC website.
