Organizing the Home: Chalkboard Labeled Bins

Home Organization: Chalkboard Labels -- Cozy Reverie Blog
Organizing the household...looks like so much fun on Pinterest, doesn't it?  But when you have to sit down and get started, the home can get very overwhelming.  Don't worry!  Let's start small, shall we?

You can only imagine how hard it can be to look at a kid's playroom and attempt to organize it, especially art supplies!  Pencils, markers, erasers, sharpies everywhere!  I determined that keeping everything labeled is key in this home.  Since I have been the one rearranging the household items, it is important for my family to know exactly where I put things.  Where are the scissors?  There are no more markers!  I thought we had glue?  Labeling is also great for the Brodster, since he has been practicing his reading.

I bought small 6-qt bins and chalkboard labels a while back.  I wanted labels that I could change, in the case that the contents would change (and let's be real, things change all the time).  However, I'm not a fan of using actual chalk.  It can be dusty, messy, and at the slightest touch, the markings smear.  That is why I used Liquid Chalk Markers.  I am a huge fan of these!  They write just like a pen, and are much neater than chalk (dustless - whoo hoo!).  The markings dry super fast!  No smudges on your hands or clothes, which is perfect since my son will be handling these bins quite often.  When it came down to erasing, it wiped off easily with a damp wash cloth.

There it is!  Nice organized area for supplies!  There are so many uses for chalkboard labels and markers: pantry organization, wedding place cards, wall calendars, and more.  Plus, it's such a clean, neat look which helps keep your home looking gorgeous.
