The second I saw Aww Sam's flamingo floatie pillow, I knew I had to make one. In true pinteresting adventure, I added my own spin to it: a flamingo floatie pincushion! Being obsessed with pool floaties, I felt like this project had to happen. I mean, I've got a responsibility, ya know? One MUST create! Okay, take it easy, Amy. Aaaanyway, read below to see how I used Aww Sam's pattern to make this itty-bitty pincushion! Make the Pattern: 1. Visit Aww Sam's post here to download the full-sized pillow pattern 2. Assemble the pattern 3. Photograph the pattern (I used my phone camera) 4. Print your photograph on a single 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper. You've now got your mini-pattern pieces! 5. Follow Aww Sam's instructions on how to construct your pincushion. Note, there will be a bit more hand-sewing as opposed to machine sewing, due to how small the pieces are. I named her Birdie (totally obvious, but it's such a cute nickname!) and maybe she'll get a toucan or swan friend later on. Thank you, Sam, for the DIY inspiration! My sewing table is looking so pretty now. p.s. - You'll see what I'm making out of this fabric in a couple of weeks! Thank you to the wonderful patrons that make projects like this possible!
