For any parent that also has a full-time job, they know the importance of the quick change.
When the family needs to prepare for the day, most of the allotted time is spent wrangling the kids and making sure they are some what clean and wearing stain-free clothing. That leaves us with five minutes to look presentable to society. Yes, shower included.
Back in college, whenever I was part of the costume crew, I loved being part of quick changes. A quick change takes place when an actor on stage needs to change their outfit as fast as possible to be able to get back on stage for the next scene. My favorite was when the actor I was working with had to change for one fat suit to another in 60 seconds. Those suits are not easy! Still, every night, it was a little challenge to make sure the actor looked great. We had to find the tricks that would help get the suit and clothes on faster so the actor would miss their cue. If they look great, I love great, right? I took a special sense of pride in what I did.
Little did I know these tricks would come in handy in my everyday mom-life. My closet is full of the quick grabs like the ones I'm wearing. Loose fitting dresses, light cardigans, flats are the easiest pieces to dress up without spending a hour rummaging through your closets. Effortless quick change!
