This post is inspired by the new season of The Ultimate Fighter on Fox Sports 1. I'm actually watching it while I'm typing! I used to watch this show when it first premiered on Spike TV, but kind of lost track of it after a while. However, season 20 is the first time where it is all women competing for the inaugural strawweight (115lb) UFC champion title. How cool is that? Mixed martial arts is a sport that has always fascinated me and scared me at the same time. I know I could never do it. I don't have that kind of drive in me. Still, I'm actually really excited to see what this season brings! I forget sometimes how comfortable men's t-shirts can be! They're especially great to work out in or lounge around at home. The recent hot weather has not been very encouraging when it comes to daily exercise (Seriously? 100+ degrees outside? Yuck!), so I'm hoping for a cool down soon. Not taking walks makes me feel so lazy, especially when I'm growing a human being.
Once little Lou is born, I'm hoping to jump back into my favorite fitness program, Les Mills Combat. It's a high intensity, mixed martial arts workout in the comfort of my own home. Most workouts take 20-30 minutes, which is about all the time I will have while running this household. I think it's my favorite because it reminds me of my time with Tae Kwon Do in grade school. It is so hard to find your chosen workout, but once you do, it is easier to stick to it. Consistency was always my biggest struggle with other programs, but I'll be happy to jump, kick, and punch my way back into this fitness routine. Maybe watching The Ultimate Fighter will be great motivation for me to work out as well! There are some kick-ass moms on there!
