Three Days at the D23Expo8/12/2013 I had a great mini-vacation this weekend! The Watkinez couple spent a few days in Anaheim at the D23 Expo. Well, actually, I drove down there on Friday morning, and Patrick joined me later than evening. That meant I got one day all to myself, which I loved! I walked the Anaheim convention center, visited all the presentations and exhibits I was interested in (I'll be writing more about this for the A Waltz Through Disney blog later this week). As much as I love my family and friends, having a day to myself is something that every mother needs. I mean, I could hear my own thoughts for a change! ;) I forgot the Nikon camera (of course), so I was not prepared for the outfit photos. I may need to retake them later this week because I really liked having Disney-themed outfits each day of the expo! Day One: Mickey Mouse Inspired I kept it quite simple on Friday. I chose the classic Mickey Mouse colors: Red, Black, and Yellow. As I have mentioned before, maxi skirts are incredibly comfortable and were perfect for a full day of walking around. The boots might not have been the most comfortable (in fact, I was sore by 2pm) but I loved the combination, so I toughed it out. Actually, I had not choice, because I had forgotten to pack another pair on comfortable flats! Day Two: Mickey and Minnie Inspired Which brings us to day two and my brand new Minnie Mouse flats! On Friday night, we walked to Downtown Disney, and I got a pair of Minnie Mouse bow flats. I never thought I would buy a pair of Disney-themed shoes; it was never my style. Maybe it was because of the necessity of shoes that were not my boots? Still, I actually like these flats a lot! The red bow is quite adorable. I especially like it when it is combined with a black backdrop, like there harem pants. The red detail really stands out. Day Three: Sleeping Beauty Inspired This was the shortest day we spent at the Expo. Perhaps we were burnt out or just could not wait to see Brody, but we only visited two presentations that day, bought some AWESOME art and called it a day. I wore my Sleeping Beauty top with a lacey cardigan because I really wanted to keep to the romantic theme of "True Love's Kiss". I had to finish off the weekend with my favorite princess movie. :) The weekend was fantastic! I will be writing more about the details of the D23 Expo later on the week, but if you can't wait, visit the site www.D23.com. They have great photos and news!
As always, thanks for reading!
