Ever since we found out we were having a baby, I have been contemplating on the future of the Cozy Reverie Etsy shop. Being completely honest with myself, I'm just not as energetic as I was when I had the Brodster (who knew 27 years young was so different from 33 years old?). Plus, I'm trying to avoid any distractions from the first few months, especially my phone (terrible addiction, you know?). So in an attempt to still do my art, but just put it on hold, the Cozy Reverie Etsy shop will be closing in October - well, kind of. Frequently Asked QuestionsIt's only June. Why announce the closing now?
I tend to plan ahead, and always like being very clear of the future of my shops. I've never been a big fan of surprise opening and closings of online shops; It doesn't seem fair to the consumer. What if someone was waiting on their next paycheck to buy the perfect gift for someone special, only to find that the shop has been closed within that week? It's a total bummer. I think a 3-months heads up is fair to everyone involved, right? Does this mean forever? Not at all! I love the Etsy community and connecting with visitors from all over the world. I've had guests from England- so cool! Giving that up is not an option. With that said, I do not have an exact date for the Etsy shop to be fully opened again, but it will most likely be after the New Year. So none of the Cozy Reverie items will be available for purchase? The Etsy shop will still offer one type of item: Instant Downloads. Etsy has made it so much easier for me to offer my artwork with very little effort on my part when it comes to shipping. My art and greeting cards will still be available, but only as digital downloads for guests to print at home or their local printing service. Which items will no longer be offered? Any items that require shipping and handling by me, which is about 70% of the shop. Having a newborn, my trips to the post office are not ideal. With the "sort-of" closing of the Etsy shop, the items no longer available after October 2014 are the following: 1. Physical Greeting Cards 2. Pendant Necklaces 3. Custom/Personalized Artwork 4. Original Paintings 5. Art Prints What will happen to all the inventory? Some lucky friends might get prints as gifts, and a few of my favorites will likely go into storage. However, the main reason I want you all to know the shop will be closing is to give everyone a fair chance to buy the item(s) they are eyeing. I only have so much room, and will be clearing out inventory. So if you absolutely love something, make sure to get it before the October, because there might be a chance it won't return. Oh! There is a giveaway planned for October, and some familiar pieces might be part of it. ;) Will the Cozy Reverie SOCIETY6 shop remain open? Absolutely! Since my partnership with this site provides shipping and handling for me, this shop will remain open. My artwork will still be added occasionally to the Society 6 shop. Great news, right? What does this mean for custom/personalized artwork? At this time, these orders have been put on hold. As much as I love working on these pieces, I would hate to reduce the time spent on them, risking the quality of the final product. Once I feel ready to dedicate more time to the personalized work, the custom listings will be return to the Etsy shop. You mentioned custom orders would not be available in June or July 2014. With the shop closing in October, is there still a window to order? Yes! For the months of August and September, I will be available for custom/personalized orders. I will announce on the blog and the Cozy Reverie Facebook page when they are officially available again. For any other questions, please feel free to email me!
