Ever since a certain newborn has taken over our lives, Pat and I have been living in a bit of a fog. No concept of time (except when the last feeding/diaper change was), sneaking in a shower in five minutes, squeezing in a nap before Louie wakes up...you know, the whole "new parent" haze. It's amazing that we even remembered today is the one-year anniversary of our Watkinez Wedding Celebration. November marks the beginning of the Watkinez Anniversary Season. Sounds silly, and believe me, we think it is too. Pat and I rarely do anything special for anniversaries because we'd prefer to save any extra money that we may have for family fun (I'm still determined to save enough to be able to renew our Disneyland Annual Passes). Acknowledging the milestones are fun though, especially since they are so close together.
November 9, 2013: Watkinez Wedding Celebration One year ago, our wonderful friends and family celebrated the union of the Watkins and Martinez family. You could see more of our DIY Wedding here. Thanksgiving 2012: Watkinez Marriage Proposal Patrick proposed to me in 2012 on Thanksgiving, in hopes to never forget the date. What he didn't take into account was that the holiday's date changes every year! To be quite honest, I don't remember the exact date either (oops!), so we consider the holiday our anniversary - dates are just a number! December 31, 2012: Watkinez Wedding Yep, just a little over a month after the proposal, Patrick and I got married on New Years Eve. We'll never forget this date! So Happy Anniversaries to my favorite husband! He has taken care of all of us, especially this past week. Not to get too gushy over him, but I am ridiculously lucky to have him in our lives. He has been a wonderful father to my boys, unbelievably patient and caring with me during my pregnancy, all while still making us laugh.
