My boys couldn't be more different from each other. While Brody loves to dress up and act, Lou cannot stand it. We understood last Halloween, since he was sick and not even one year old. We figured he didn't understand the concept of Halloween yet. I did cheat though, and put him in a diaper cover costume. So we just chalked it up to him being too young. Fast forward to today. Lou has recently become very picky about what he wears to school every day. He insists on shirts and socks with cartoon characters on them (bossy pants). So you can imagine the struggle I had when I tried to dress him this year. Robin Hood was the first movie that Louie actually watched. He loved the characters and the music, so since his personality resembled Prince John, I thought it was perfect for him. I just couldn't pass up the chance of still being able to make the choice. Yeah...there is no way he is wearing this for his school parade LOLZ!! It took me 35 minutes of patience and bribes just to get him to put on the robe. Forget about the crown! The only way I was able to get him to keep it on for more than 2 seconds was to tell him to growl whenever he wore it. "ROOOOAAARRR!" he would happily yell, and then throw the crown as far as he could. For trick-or-treating, we are pretty sure we will be dressing him in his Woody pajamas and just call it a night - haha! As long as the kiddo has fun, that's all we really want. Maybe next year he'll let me - fingers crossed! Want to make your own Prince John costume? I used this pattern for the robe!
