While weight loss has always been a focus of mine health-wise, I have never been very patient with the journey. I have always been someone that needs instant gratification in everything I do. However, in the recent weeks, my focus has shifted. As we get older, the long game becomes much more important. A healthier lifestyle is a must, but sadly this doesn't easily happen overnight. So what does an impatient little brat, like me, do to prepare for said lifestyle? I turned to yoga. With the help of MyYogaWorks.com, I did yoga for 14 days. It really helped that the challenge kicked off on my birthday! Completing 14 days of anything is a first for me and I'm definitely patting myself on the back. To be completely honest, I am not good at it. I know I'm not. Want to know that craziest part? I am okay with that. I am okay with not being amazing at yoga because that's not the purpose. Yoga is not a competitive practice with others, just with myself. In a world where we are constantly being exposed to how much better someone is at something, or how much more someone else has than you (the cons of social media), yoga is a moment I can take each day to better myself within without worrying about anything else. Below are the 14 prompts that MyYogaWorks gave out each day. Clearly, I'm not that picture perfect yogi you'll find in a Google image search, but that's okay. I'm genuinely excited to continue working on myself. If there is one thing that yoga challenges me to learn, it's patience. Not just in yoga, but in all aspects of life.
