Our DIY Wedding!
Patrick and I got married on New Years Eve in 2012, but we didn't actually have a reception with your friends and family until almost a year later. On November 9, 2013, we finally celebrated with our loved ones. It was our way of thanking them for being an important and supportive part of the family's journey. We had four hours of great food, drinks, and fun with our favorite people in the world.
Starting a family is not easy and certainly not cheap, so we made it a personal goal to make this a DIY Wedding. It takes a bit more effort than normal and a lot of creativity, but in the end, all the work was absolutely worth it. The majority of the $$ goes to food and drinks anyway. Depending on where you go, catering for 80 people will cost at least $1000. Adding drinks and snacks to the mix, that totaled up to $1350 - the majority of our budget!
In hopes to help out all those couples that are in similar situations, this page has the collection of blog posts dedicated to how we saved money by doing things ourselves! If you have any additional questions about our wedding, please feel free to email my at CozyReverie@hotmail.com.
Oh and if you use any of these tips, let me know how it goes!
