New series on the blog today! This is the first roundup of one of my favorite Instagram weekly features: Spoonflower Saturday! My two years with Spoonflower have made it easy to fall in love with textile design and I really want to encourage all of you to try your own DIY projects. This post includes a great group of projects that any beginner can try out. I have also added a link to where I found easy tutorials - no excuses!
Looking to celebrate #PiñataDay but not sure how? Buy one to break! There are quite a few retailers out there that carry them online and we've rounded up some of our favorites. Perfect for any style out there! Just click below on the image you'd like to shop.
For those that want to make their own, stay tuned! We'll be featuring our favorite DIY tutorials soon.
You are cordially invited to celebrate Draw a Self-Portrait Day! On March 26, we will set aside a day to bust out those colored pencils, sharpies, paints and/or stylus to create a new piece of artwork: Your beautiful face.
I have created an easy tutorial on how you can create your own self-portrait. The best part about art is that it doesn't have to be perfect! Just relax and have fun. It's all about seeing the beauty in YOU. That sounds cheesy, but oh well! Deal with it!
Who's planning on throwing a piñata party? How ridiculously colorful would that be?! In anticipation of #PiñataDay, we've rounded up 10 great ways to make your party memorable and fun. It's PAR-TAY, PAR-TAY, PAR-TAY TIME!
Remember when I mentioned 5 ways to be creative this month? I totally completed one of my goals! For 15 days, Spoonflower challenged their blog readers to create a design a day. While it sometimes feels like I'm churning out new patterns left and right, this exercise encouraged new ways to create artwork. No, I'm not gushing over my own artwork. In fact, 90% of these I'm not crazy about (and was very close to deleting), but I find it important for artists to learn from failed designs. It's the only way to grow.
So here we go: let's make fun of my artwork TOGETHER! Recap time!
I draw, make, and occasionally tell a story.
