What the what!! Just in time for summer, the Society 6 shop is hooking it up with beach towels!! YEEE!! I took two days to work furiously and have these colorful Cozy Reverie originals ready for your vacation. Here are FIVE brand new towels to choose from! Personally, I’m all about the confetti life.
The Haunted Mansion is probably the scariest place I will ever visit willingly. I've done Knott's Scary Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights in the past, but it's just not for me. I'm a wuss and completely own it!
Still the home of the 999 happy haunts is so incredibly well done, and very few could match the incredible detailing and craft that went into this evolving attraction. The Portraits mug was inspired by the elevator and is still a favorite in the shop. I recently searched for the actual script of the opening monologue, and I dare you to tell me it doesn't give you chills just by reading it:
For what seems like months, I've been trying to figure out what the Cozy Reverie brand truly is. Artsy, yeah we get that. But when you think of Cozy Reverie, what is the first idea that comes to your head?
Naturally, I turned to friends to let me know their impressions of what the name "Cozy Reverie" means to them. I got "Whimsical Crafting", "Pop Culture Art", "Fun, Whimsical, Artistic", and lots of blankets (which I do not sell, but wish I did!). I even got "Pajama Party", which I can only deduce that it's from the name alone. I only have one set of PJs for sale! HAHA!
I don't know about you guys, but don't all those things sound like they're completely different entities? They totally are! The crazy thing is that combined into one, yes, Cozy Reverie is all of those things. THIS IS WHY I AM SO EXHAUSTED!
I had been trying to figure out why I was tired all the time. That's because I am constantly trying to implement every single idea I get and incorporate it into the blog. Funny thing, though: I didn't start Cozy Reverie to be a blog! Cozy Reverie was an Etsy shop filled with greeting cards, which eventually had a blog just for fun. Wowee, did I lose that focus, or what? LOL!
I love blogs. I really do. It's like having a magazine waiting for you every morning with all the subjects you obsess over (mine being DIY, fashion, parties and decor). However, I think I took on way too many projects and tried to create my own magazine. Being a one woman show, that is just not possible. Seriously, it's amazing I haven't gone completely mental yet. With all the feedback, I was super close to changing my brand name. I mean, I was ready to wipe the slate clean and start all over.
Yes, I know. I'm a nut case.
Then I took a step back and took a deep breath. I don't want to change my name. I like it! People know me by it. I don't want to let that go. What I now realize is that I have to really begin to focus on what I love about my brand. DIYs are all fun and good, but that's for me as a person. Sure I like recipes, but there's no way I'm blogging about that. What is Cozy Reverie?
Cozy Reverie is art & style. That's what it does. It brightens your day with wearable art. Apparel, accessories, office supplies, home decor: ultimately, it all comes down to art by Amy Watkins. There may be a little changes around my little space on the web to get me back on track. Nothing major! Just little tweaks here and there. I want this space to be about colorFUN items for you. This is our little club here and your troop leader is on the job.
Rest easy, friends, your gal is back! Everything IS awesome!
Happy Statehood, California!
Our wonderful golden state was founded on September 9, 1850. You didn't know I was a history buff, did ya? Just kidding, I'm sooooo not. Still, I do love all things Cali so here's some lovin' going out to my home state. :)
Ahhhhh, yeah! Our passes are no longer blocked out for weekends! I'm so excited we can go to Disneyland again. Luckily, we were so busy during the summer that time flew by rather quickly. It feels like I was just complaining about it last week! I'm such a baby. ;)
What I am really looking forward to is checking out the new Peter Pan ride. I have made an effort to not watch the YouTube videos so I could get the full experience first hand. This mug is inspired by the oh-so adorable lost boys. They really don't get much credit, and I have no idea why! They are such fun sidekicks, especially because of their "wardrobe". Little rascals but still good-hearted kids.
Let's test out your Disney knowledge: Can you name all six lost boys pictured on the mug? Comment your answers below!
Disneyland turned 60 last Friday, so the rest of the year is basically one big Disney unbirthday party. Any reason to party is fine by me!
Looking back at my DIY tutorials, I cannot believe how much I am lacking in the Disney-inspired stuff! Seriously, it's whack. When I saw that, I sat back and thought about all the Disney lovin' jazz we have around the house. Paintings, pillows, posters, and more, but not one DIY on the blog this year! Unacceptable.
This week, I am prepared to give you five new Disney-inspired posts! Couple of DIYs, a fun styling post, plus a freebie later this week. It's been a while since I have been that ambitious with a theme, but it has to be done. Sorry, to all you non-Disney fans out there (not sorry, really), but it's going to be Disney-overload here. After all, it's Disneyland's 60th anniversary!
But first, caffeine. :)
