Most of my illustrations reflect what I am most inspired by, or, like in this case, what I’m currently obsessed with. This is officially my third blog post about tea.
I have been trying to limit my coffee intake in the recent months, but I still needed a kick start every morning, so I turned to tea. I don’t come from a family of tea drinkers, which means the drink was completely new to me. For the first few months, I stuck to green tea. However, this past birthday, a friend of mine gave me a bundle of different Ahmad Tea teas. Imagine my surprise when I found out how many different types of tea there are! My current favorite is the peach & passion fruit. I instantly fell in love with the English tradition, right down to the beautiful teacup.
Being the constant doodler that I am, I illustrated a stack of teacups. With the aid of the fantastic site, Spoonflower, I was able to create my own fabric to showcase my current obsession. Kinda cute for a casual tea party, don’t you think? Designing my individual style has been a new venture for me, and I’m very excited to have been able to start by illustrating my love for tea.
